As an inventor, one of the key abilities you'll need in order to be successful is that of salesmanship. Even if you're planning on licensing your invention to another company (to have them sell it to the final customers), you'll still need to be able to sell your idea to the company before they'll license it. Nothing happens in an organization until somebody sells something, and Aaron McGushion will be speaking the key sales techniques inventors will need in order to move your product forward, either through licensing or by starting a company.
About the speaker:
Aaron McGushion is a registered patent agent, and has a background in mechanical engineering, first working as a design engineer in the semiconductor and aerospace industries, taking ideas from the initial concept to the finished product. Afterwards, he worked with General Electric Energy as a research engineer, working on a variety of new technology projects involving pollution control and measurement. Additionally, he is an associate professor of physics at Santa Monica College and writes search opinions for international patent applications. For five years, he was a salesman for various industries, and still actively incorporates sales techniques in every aspect of his business as a patent agent and an inventor.
